Event Rules
Event Cost
-$20 at the gate
-$15 Pre-register
-Military Vehicle owners will be welcomed free of charge
WOUND CARDS: For this event we will be using a wound card system. Each wound card will have one of three outcomes; Dead, Medic aid, and Buddy aid. When you are hit you will pretend you are actually shot and fall to the ground. There is no removing of your helmet and sitting down to talk with your buddies. We are reenactors so be sure to actually ACT it out!! Once you are down take out your wound card and find your fate. If wounded be sure to take your evacuation serious. This event is not about winning but is about the immersive experience. Make your buddies or medic work hard to get you back to your squad and bring realism to those around you.
-Death Card: This card is just as it sounds, you are dead. Meaning you must lay on the battlefield without talking or moving (Death groans/cries, or slight movement allowed). When either the battle has moved past you or you have been recovered by your fellow troops is when you may rejoin the battle.
-Medic Aid: This card means that you have been wounded badly and need immediate medical aid. Lay on the ground and begin to call for a medic/sani. You may yell to your comrades or scream in pain and again movement should be very limited. You may pick a wound site for the medic to treat and you must be evacuated properly to the rear before rejoining your squad.
-Buddy Aid: This card means that you have a minor wound and can be patched up by any bandage you carry on your person. It is important that participants bring a bandage of some sort with them for their buddies to patch you up with. If treating a buddy be sure to use their bandage and not your own! Once you have been treated you must then be evacuated properly for your wound to the rear before you may rejoin your squad.
Hydration
Being that this event will take place in early December so it will be cold. With that being said make sure to bring plenty of water with you to the event and find something period to put it in whether it be a Jerry can or even a ration box. Be sure to start hydrating heavily a few days prior to the event. With that being said there will be NO HEAVY DRINKING allowed at this event. Given the attendants I know we are dealing with a much more common sense oriented group who can make proper decisions. Some wine being passed around comrades is no problem but when it gets to excess is when problems can arise. With the heat and constant movement we cannot take the risk of someone being dehydrated and having heat stroke. It is also a benefit to other attendants because the dehydrated soldier will not fight for 3 hours then pack up to go home. Many people are driving long distances to attend so please hold off on the alcohol until after the event and get the most out of your time this weekend!
Sportsmanship
I cannot stress the importance of sportsmanship at this event enough. We are all working hard to create a new immersive experience for ourselves and our comrades. This is not an us vs them mentality and if you think this is going to be a run and gun type of event so no “I hit you!” yelling is allowed. This event will focus on life on the line, running patrols, scouting and securing objectives in a realistic fashion. This event is designed so that participants get out of it what they put in. We are all friends with a common interest in history and immersion so lets act like it!
Prisoners of war
POW taking is allowed at this event and encouraged. If your squad is almost wiped out and you find yourself being overrun feel free to surrender to enemy forces. You are representing a soldier just trying to fight for his country and go home to his loved ones. There is no hiding weapons to be used once captured or throwing last ditch grenades. This is not call of duty and should be treated with maturity and not fanaticism. If you have to carry modern items and do not wish them to be searched If taken prisoner please place these items in your TOP LEFT POCKET as to avoid any confusion.
Being that this is an invite only event I do not see any problems arising from this crowd due to the maturity level and like mindedness of those in attendance. That being said these rules are being put up to avoid any confusion and make sure that everyone is on the same page. Lets make this an event to remember!
